Product Details
Arthur Heath served in the 6th Battalion Queen’s Own (Royal West Kent Regiment). Lieutenant Arthur Heath volunteered on Thursday 20th August 1914 and his letters home and to his friends begin from that date. They chart his training in England, leaving for France and then serving in northern France in the trenches. His letters reflect the optimism felt by so many men and then the reality of life at the front. Lieutenant Heath was killed in action on Friday 8th October 1915 at Loos. The original book was published by his family in 1917. In Part II there are cameos on thirty-four personalities mentioned in his letters.162 pages
