Product Details
Teddy Shears served in the 1st Battalion Irish Guards. The letters of Lieutenant Teddy Shears cover the period from Monday 22nd January 1917 to Wednesday 4th July 1917 when he finally was able to serve in France. Teddy left with a draft and you follow him into the front line where his optimistic and cheery letters provided a detailed experience of an officer and his men. Teddy served on the Somme and on the Salient where he was killed when hit by a shell splinter. The original book was published by his parents in 1919. In Part II there are cameos on twenty personalities mentioned in his letters. 104 pages.
